With the New Year coming in, people by the droves put their New Year's resolutions in gear. For many health clubs, the month of January marks the easiest time of the year to entice and underdeliver the hopes and desires of the unsuspecting public.

1. Check the cleanliness. Clubs don’t care about keeping the club clean don’t care about keeping you happy. Period. Always give a good look in the locker rooms and cardio deck.
2. Gauge the pressure. The more pressure that is being put on you to join right then, the less service you are likely to get. Use your head. Today only specials are a scam. Peer pressure always puts you in a bad spot. (Important Note: monthly does not mean month-to-month. Make sure you know the difference.)
3. Judge value, not price. Price is what you pay. Value equals what you get for what you pay. Generally, the higher the rates, the more value you get. Of course, make sure to judge this for yourself. Just don’t get stuck in the “low price” mindset. Always look for “high value”
4. Ask about the management history. Clubs with a history of better service tend to have stable management. If a club switches managers every 3 months, it’s not a positive sign and usually means that ownership either continually chooses poor management or it’s a sign of dissatisfied employees. Be sure to ask.
5. Always check the Better Business Bureau homepage on any clubs that you are looking to join. If a club has a bad mark, you can bet it’s pretty intentional. The Bureau doesn't just hand out bad marks without just cause.

1. Reduce Fat:
Avoid excessive eating of type of foods that can increase your fat. Te type of food items that you should avoid eating too much are:
Avoid burger, fried foods, fatty meats, cheese, cream, milk, butter, sandwich and nuts etc.
2. Drink Plenty of Water
Drinking water is useful to health as doctors and expert’s advice drinking more water is useful to health because water is essentially responsible for almost every all body functions. The average healthy person needs 8-ounce glasses of water a day.
3. Make your body Move More: Find new ways everyday by which you can make you body move more. The ways in which you can make your body move more are:
Select option of climbing stairs and avoid escalators. Have an early walk in your garden everyday. Avoid driving cars or other vehicles for going to nearby places. Walk with your dog. Play with your child. To make your body move more does not require an everyday exercise gym up to 1 hour or more or an aerobic dance class but it will do well to your health if you are up to such exercises.
4. Quit Smoking: Smoking is harmful to health and should be avoided and this warning is also written on branded cigarette packets but then also smokers avoid these types of warnings. The interaction between grapefruit juice and some medications can cause negative effects, especially on kidney level, and sometimes it can be fatal. A woman that uses birth control pills and then suddenly drinks too much grapefruit juice can get pregnant because this juice makes the effects of the pills disappear.
Grapefruit juice is not indicated to drink while taking anti-depressing medication, antibiotics and medicine for cardio-vascular diseases. A person that takes anti-depressives and adds to that grapefruit in huge quantities can feel that he has all of a sudden too much or too little energy, depending on the pills taken. Combining it with antibiotic can cause stomach sickness or can extend the illness you are taking medication for because the antibiotics will diminuate their effect. The key is to know which are the good foods, and to eat as much of such food as possible, and to avoid fatty and unwanted foods. Make sure you have about 5 you 7 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, calcium rich food and whole grain, high fiber foods regularly. If not, try to make small, slow changes to attain such a food diet as small changes are easier to make and easier to stick with. To know what types of food you eat, it is best to write down what you eat and drink everyday. This way you will know which foods you can eat more of and which foods to avoid. You can enlist the help of a nutritionist if you don’t actually know which foods to eat and avoid. Don’t trust the nutritional information you get from newspapers and magazines as they may conflict with earth other. Never think that good nutrition can be obtained from a vitamin pill. It may give you vitamins and minerals, but your body benefits the most from eating healthy foods. Making some changes in the mode of cooking of your food too helps in getting a healthy body. Rather than frying meat, it is better to bake, grill or broil meat. It is better to drink low-calorie beverages like water and unsweetened tea and diet soda, than aerated drinks.
